Sarah Ann Hajjar

Sarah Ann is a fourteen year-old fiddler from Newburyport Massachusetts. She was classically trained until the age of ten and now mostly plays Scottish and Cape Breton style fiddle music. Sarah Ann has spent four summers studying fiddle and dance at the Gaelic College. She has also attended programs at Berklee College of Music and the Brookline Music School in Boston. Most recently she has studied under Hanneke Cassel, Jenna Moynihan, Katie McNally and others at Boston-based fiddle camps. She is a member of the Nock Chamber Ensemble and is an active member of the middle school orchestra directed by her teacher, Kathleen Shepherd. Her uncle and Cape Breton fiddler, Doug Lamey, has influenced her to continue playing the fiddle and learn about her ancestors. When she is not playing music, she enjoys tennis, walking her dog and spending time with family and friends.
