Lisa MacIsaac

Lisa MacIsaac is a singer, fiddler, and stepdancer from Creignish, Cape Breton Island. Raised in a musical family and community, she was surrounded by the sounds of traditional Cape Breton music from an early age. She began step dancing at age seven and soon after took up the fiddle, performing at ceilidhs and local events across the island.

Lisa is best known today as one half of the folk-pop duo Madison Violet, alongside Brenley MacEachern. Since forming in 1999, the pair has built a dedicated following across Canada and internationally. Their music blends folk, pop, and Americana influences with a strong foundation in East Coast storytelling. Over the years, Madison Violet has released several acclaimed albums and earned recognition from the Juno Awards and the John Lennon Songwriting Contest.

Whether on stage or in the studio, Lisa brings a grounded presence, sharp musicianship, and deep respect for her roots. Her work continues to reflect the spirit of Cape Breton while reaching audiences far beyond.
