Lauren MacDonnell grew up in the Halifax area and was exposed to the Cape Breton style of fiddling at a young age during summers visiting family in the area surrounding the community of Inverness. Coming from a family of musicians and step dancers, she began playing fiddle at the age of eight and step dancing at the age of fifteen. Lauren moved to Inverness County in the fall of 2021, where she frequently attends square dances and ceilidhs throughout the County. Lauren is excited to be performing in KitchenFest! for the first time.
