Gordon MacLean is a traditional style piano player who grew up at the Gillis Point Lighthouse near Washabuck, Cape Breton, an area with a rich tradition of Celtic music. He has composed popular tunes such as “The Mortgage Burn.” His tasteful piano accompaniment is much sought after by fiddlers for both live performances and recordings. Over the years he has accompanied his uncles who were fiddlers. He has also played and recorded with many other well-known musicians, including Michael Anthony MacLean, Theresa Morrison, Alex Francis MacKay, Morgan MacQuarrie and many others.
