Donald Gillis

Donald Gillis comes from a very musical family. His mothers family are the Beaton‘s at Mabou and his dad is also a musician. Donald is a regular student for many years at the Gaelic College each summer and discovered piano early on at the college with Kolten MacDonell. He has been taking lessons originally with Tracey MacNeil and now weekly with Lawrence Cameron. Donald has made a number of appearances in the community at community concerts and his first gig as a hired pianist was at the barn in Margaree in the summer of 2021. He’s excited to be featured in the festival lineup this year.
