Brian MacDonald

Brian MacDonald

Brian grew up in Westmount, Cape Breton, and spent much of his life surrounded by the Gaelic music and culture of Inverness County. A well-known fiddler, he has played for dances and concerts throughout Cape Breton, Ontario, and Detroit over many years, and later formed a group known as the Antigonish County Fiddlers.

Brian and his wife raised five children while living in St. Andrews, Antigonish County, and now reside in Long Point, Cape Breton. Alongside his involvement in traditional music, he has also been deeply committed to Gaelic language learning and played an important role in organizing Gaelic programs for both adults and students in the Antigonish area.
