Barry MacKenzie

Barry MacKenzie

Barry MacKenzie is a native of the Miramichi in northern New Brunswick, with deep roots in the Scottish and Irish communities there. A graduate of StFX University (2007), he has lived in Antigonish permanently since 2016. In 2022, he became curator of the Antigonish Heritage Museum, where he rediscovered his love of performing during their annual summer ceilidhs. He has been entertaining audiences with song and humour (and occasionally the guitar, when it isn't feeling too shy) since the age of 9. With a PhD in Canadian history, Barry also teaches Canadian history part-time at StFX.
