Abigail MacDonald is from St. Andrews, Antigonish County and grew up surrounded by Gaelic music and culture. Her father is a respected fiddler from a long line of musicians and tradition bearers. He passed on this talent to Abigail, who is also a Gaelic singer, piano player, highland and step dancer. Over the years, Abigail has been part of many community-based Gaelic programs such as Na Gaisgich Òga, Féis Cape Breton, and most recently Daltachas. During the summer months, Abigail is employed at the Gaelic College in St. Ann’s where she provides instruction for students and shares her knowledge on Gaelic culture with visitors. Abigail is a regular musician at ceilidhs and dances throughout the province and is an annual performer in the KitchenFest! music festival. She just graduated from the Health Science program from St.Francis Xavier University.
