Rita's Tea Room Rita's Tea Room, originally a one-room schoolhouse in the 1930s, was the first home of late Canadian singer-songwriter Rita MacNeil. Converted into a tea room in the early 80s, and nestled snugly alongside Highway 4 in Rita's hometown of Big Pond, Rita's Tea Room offers delicious homemade lunches and desserts, unique career retrospective displays and memorabilia showcases, and of course a must-stop gift shop. And every Sunday in July and August, the Songs on Sunday music and dinner series! The Tea Room operates seasonally from May 28 to mid-October, and is open seven days a week, 10 am - 5 pm.
