Darla (Chaisson) MacPhee, was born into the musical Chaisson family. She has been immersed in traditional music since a mere sprig! Surrounded by fiddle music, played by Dad Kenny and many uncles and cousins it was only natural Darla took to the music and looked for her place to make a contribution. Darla found her niche — the piano. She has played with “the best and with the rest” of the best touring European capitals, a trail of festivals and concerts throughout the states and familiar stages across Canada. She did all that before she left her teens! As a member of the band Kindle she was on stage at the East Coast Music Award (ECMA’s) after the band was nominated. She has recorded several CD’s, one with Dad Kenny, two with her cousins in the band Celtic Tide, CD’s with Kindle, another was a special CD by the Chaisson Family and one with, “The Celtic Ladies”. She has also been in demand by many artist with their request she accompany them on their CD’s. You may say whew, but wait, Darla did all that and found time to raise a family of 4 children with her husband Jeremy. Darla makes the room come alive when her fingers hit the keys. She plays with a truly unique style, powerful and poised.
